Palliative Care

What is Palliative Care?

Palliative Care provides support and advice to people with a life-limiting, treatable, but not curable illness, and those close to them.

Care is focussed on improving quality of life by: managing any symptoms, offering emotional, psychological and spiritual support; also, offering practical support, including planning for the future.

Please speak to your medical team for further information on local Palliative Care services.

Our staff at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ District Hospital have long been well regarded for the quality of care and treatment they provide for our patients and for their innovation, commitment and professionalism. This has been recognised in a wide range of achievements and it is reflected in our award of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Foundation Trust status. This is afforded to hospitals that provide the highest standards of care.
